I came upon a beautiful cyanotype recently, that my lovely friend Ella made for me a while ago. Her gift has inspired me to attempt my own, but in order to do this I must accrue the correct equipment!
While waiting for a fortuitous day involving the back of a lorry, I have produced a photogram using a piece of resin coated, monochrome photographic paper, a cup, some pasta, a banana, some bleach (I wouldn’t use bleach again), and my scanner. I’m using my scanner to preserve the image due to my poverty of magical chemicals! I love the gradation captured around where the banana was sitting. Is there anything bananas can’t do? Marvellous!
I hope I can produce something more delicate, and with more tone, after a bit of experimentation, when I start my cyanotypes. Hurry up flying delivery monkeys!!
I think he looks better now.
Some times it’s warts and all. I thought i could get away with tracing around the legs from the original front view drawing and use the shape for the back legs. When i came to Photo Shop my back view drawing i realized his legs are very jaunty. Jaunty Indeed. The self confidence of an owl’s neck. Back to the drawing board.
Way hard with my pencil in parts here! Resolute lines that change!
My Demon in penciling progress. I’ll finish this later. I’m going for a big lunch.
I’m trying to get enough pieces for a show once my commissions are finished, which may be a wee while! It seems the dark side is my muse still! Hopefully i can stand beside my masters of the macabre. I’ve had this on the go for ages, and it’s started talking again. Pornography in progress. Dirty Books! The man looks pretty shifty! It’ll be interesting looking at a Cardiff sky again! Hope i can fulfill all of these plans! Time runs out.
